If a trains comes it will cut the hose the block pads are to keep cars from cutting water in hose . Big problem for train crossing.

  • Marty J says:

This is a derailment waiting to happen! The Firemen who laid that hose should be severely chastised!! The ONLY way to cross the rails with a hose is UNDER the rails and between the TIES and even that is VERY dangerous!

  • Newman Atkinson says:

Chances are it would not do the train any good. It could, like the movie Unstoppable disintegrate those blocks too. Of course that was a movie. Same as the engines taking the siding and crashing but the main was still set straight…… What was wrong with that scene. I’d say something this time would be coming off the track……..

  • Fire21 says:

It’s my understanding this was done as a joke somewhere in Europe. I can’t imagine there’s a firefighter in the world who would believe this to be a workable setup.

    • Newman Atkinson says:

There are a lot of folks out there that would do this without thinking otherwise. They learned that this allows car wheels to go over the hoses and that is all they know. So they think train whells will do the same thing. Sorry an accident is going to happen. Newman

  • Bob Lang says:

Since I am with the Fire Dept, I would say this is a set up for a serious derailment. Sure, the wheels of the train would first crush this object, but the debris resulting would most certainly force the forward wheels off the track.

goes to show that idiots are every were

  • Tom Izzo says:

That is hilarious!!!!!!!!! Whoever the “genius” is that set that up, ought to lose his job immediately.

  • Arnold Robert Lee says:

I recon this is a practical joke, not funny if it were real, it’s just a Photoshop picture to get a few laughs. I didn’t,– laugh that is.

  • Ray Hazen says:

This problem definitely needs rethinking the solution (I think it’s staged to be humorous). May be funny to some, but definitely not to the railroad. A cut hose is a small problem compared to a derailment.
