Rail Bridge Accident
This type of incident is all too frequent, but fortunately this scene is a model and not a real rail bridge crash. Just as well, because who knows what that brown tank could be storing. Misjudging the height of a rail bridge underpass can be dangerous, disruptive, and costly… but some bridges seem to get hit time and time again despite clear signage.
The scene was filmed last year at the Great Edmonton Model Train Show in Alberta, Canada.

At least the bridge isn’t damaged.
Doesn’t happen very often, here in Queensland, Australia. The majority of low bridges are fitted with “tell-tails” and video recording. The penalty for hitting one (especially rail bridges) is now in excess $AU 5,000. Last major collision here in Qld was not the fault of the driver, the height was posted at 4.3.metres. The road authority has just repaved the road, adding 200mm to the surface. Just a bit hard for a 4.2 m high vehicle to pass under a 4.1m opening. Road authority also, very uncommonly, paid for the repair and the damaged freight.
There is a bridge near where I live on the PNWR that gets hit about once a year. It is clearly signed.
