TMCC Trainmaster Command Control

“I don’t know about T.M.C.C. and would appreciate any pointers to help fill in my knowledge gap. I have heard others talking about Radio Control similar to model aircraft and wonder if it a real possibility to set up this method as I am about to retire D.C. for my H O setup and am at the decision time. i dont know about TMCC but i have started using PROTOCAB it is wireless control no power to the trak is needed i found it very good it will work with any other control as it has no picups on the weels

I’m not sure this answers your question but …. I have converted all my Loc’s to battery power controlled by radio control. I use Airwire and CVP systems (you can look them up on the internet). No track wiring and no cleaning of the track for me. You must convert the loc’s to DCC and then have the added module for remote control.
As I am 73 and my hands shake too much for me to do this so I had them done for me. It is also possible to keep your track active (supplied w/12 volts) for trains running DCC but not converted to radio control so you can run both types at the same time. Hope this helps…

TMCC is for Lionel and MTH O gauge stuff. it is too big to fit in HO gauge trains. Stick with DCC for HO and N gauge. If your layout is small don’t get talked into the high priced stuff. A Powercab or Prodigy Express will do. They are 1.6 amp systems. If the lay out grows boosters are available. If you join a club you only need a throttle that’s compatible with their system. I have a medium sized layout and I use a used Prodigy Advance.
