Broadway Limited Rolling Thunder Compatible With MRC 2000
Chris asks:
“I have an original MRC 2000 DCC system that runs up to 10 HO scale trains. I just purchased a beautiful CSX Broadway Limited rolling thunder and I’m hoping the sound functions will work with my MRC 2000. Anybody know?

DCC systems are designed to NMRA standards, which allow DCC locos of any make to run with DCC control systems of any make. (There are a few competing European systems.)

Any chance you think the sound should work too, then?
like frank said it should work just fine.
If the loco has a DCC sound decoder and a speaker, it will work with any modern DCC control system.
I advise you to get a basic book on DCC railroading. This will enable you to learn all the basic information about DCC systems and answer most of your questions.
Looking at the manufacturer’s page:

you will need the whole (under layout) system to get the additional full range of low frequency sounds.
Thanks everyone, the basic sounds work while it’s running. I just don’t have the buttons on the MRCDCC controller to make any other fun sounds work. Eventually I will be upgrading the controller that comes equipped with all of the fun sound buttons. Thank you everybody.
