Bizarre Running of Train
Mike writes:
“A short while ago I left a turnout open and a locomotive that was running ended up stationary against a parked locomotive. This lasted for only a few seconds before I got to the locomotive and lifted it of the track.
However, it has not run properly since. When you select the locomotive and move the throttle the motor will hum but it does not move until the throttle has been moved to full. Even then the locomotive still does not move for some 5 or 6 seconds when it will very slowly start to move reaching full speed in 6 to 8 seconds. What is the problem please?”

It seems the DCC decoder took a short and it’s programming may have scrambled. I presume you are tuning DCC as you stated you had to select the loco.
Try putting it on your programming track and resetting the decoder to factory settings and testing again before re programming your decoder with your preferred settings.
Otherwise all else fails so has the decoder
Thanks Bruce
It”s up and running again
Cheers
check the gears and see if one does not have a crack on mine if there is a small crack it will act as you describe
Mike seems you’ve achieved some kind of momentum, whereby don’t get immediate full throtle but some time later, as true trains.👍🏻
🤔Does it take more time & distance to bringb it to a halt?
Seems it’s more real.
cheers
