“How do you speed match locos so that any locomotive can be consisted with any other locomotive?”

    On DCC equipped locos, speed matching involves setting three configuration variables, CV2 (Vstart), CV5 (Vmax) and CV6 (Vmid) for each loco. Your DCC system’s instruction manual should explain the method.
    Or youo could pick up a copy of the December 2022 issue of Model Railroader magazine which has an article on it on page 18. Of course, there are innumerable videos on YouTube that should help.

    Just remember that real railrways did not expect all their locos could consist with each other. You are asking a lot.
