Wiring of Turnouts
Ken wants to hear from anyone who knows about electrofrogs and asks:
“I have all Peco turnouts in my layout. How can I tell an electrofrog from a insulfrog without removing them from the track layout? Most of my other wiring is complete. All I need to do is the turnouts”

Probably the easiest way is to use a Volt-Ohm Meter set to continuity. They are fairly inexpensive. Touch one lead to the frog and the other lead to the track on either end of the frog. If the meter reads all 0’s or beeps, it means there is electrical conductivity through the frog. If nothing happens on the meter, it’s an insulfrog. Hope this helps.
I use a simple tester, a battery and a globe. Works well.
