Using A Double Mainline Pulling 20 Cars

“What is the best incline for a double mainline using a total of 20 cars including the engine? Also, can a double slip crossover be made using Lionel Fastrack?”

    If you are trying to get 20 cars, plus trains up a grade with two locos, then 4% rise usually works OK. Getting over 4%, train length and power needed to pull said trains is really a factor. As an earlier poster said, real RRs avoid grades like the plague for the same reasons…………….
