Digitrax DCS 52/Tsunami PNP8 Programing

Reset your DCS 52 and see if that does the trick. There is a small inset button on the back to do this. You will have to reprogram you locos, but when I had a similar problem it did the trick
I just discovered the problem ! First I reset the locomotive’s Tsunami values and then found one of the power wires did not conduct electricity. There was no evidence of a break in the wire but there was no power and that was the other problem. The wire from the DCS 52 to the track was about 12″ long, traveled under and through the bench work but had enough slack to make a trim. Your suggestion regarding the reset was the beginning of resolution.

Difficult to diagnose from a distance. Possibly a loose wire from the motor ? Does the sound level rise as if the loco had started moving, or just remain idling as you turn up the speed control ?

Apart from what David Weger has proposed I would first reset your Tsunami PNP8 decoder CV8=8 on your program track. You will then have the factory setting address as 3. Now check if it runs on your main line with no 3 as your address. If it does, then place it back on your programming track and re assign a new address and not the earlier address when it ran previously. PLease make sure to clean your loco wheels and the track on which you do your programming. The sound coming on when placed on the track is normal even if the address is not entered and means that your Tsunami decoder is good. It may have lost its memory due to a short . So a factory reset should solve the problem.
