flex track is cool, not many problems using it on straights but on curves make sure you solder the flex track before bending or shaping to a curve or you will have problems also make sure your radius isn’t to sharp or your trains will derail, do a search through e-bay for train stuff as its were i go for all kinds of things train related, Ian Western Australia 🙂
I have much code 100 flex track.
The previous solder comment is manatory.
I use loc-tite construction adhesive to glue the cork and track down carefully.
I usually draw my track c/l on the board being carefull to have a smooth/constsnt radius curve. 18″ would be ok for your short locos. otherwise at least 24″.. This was my mistake on some of the layout.
I use digitrax superchief with 3 subpower controls and 16 blocks. The “block occupied” works great on the RR&Co computer program.
I have used most of the various turnout drives. The tortoise requires too much space under when there are three levels..BUT work great.
I have most all of the Digitrax and other control circuits for different operations. My signal lights work great but the Semaphores are a challenge.
I haven’t tried the transponding yet.
