A Mix Of The Old and New

model trams on railroad layout Here’s a mix of old and new spotted on Ian Williamson’s N scale “Midway” layout. The scene is no location in particular, just a smallish city with a CBD. As can be seen this city is well serviced by public transport including trams that run frequently. Most of the buildings are by Tomy and Tomix, the trams come from the same manufacturers. The movements are controlled by an automatic train reverser with diodes in a block system.

I seen the exact style systems and age of equipment just as you have at the National Train Show a few weeks ago. It looks great and from what I see yours does to. It is always a situation especially in smaller cities there will be a mix of equipment and age of that equipment. Not all equipment gets replaced at the same time There are budgets you know just like the budget my other half gives me for my trains. Looks Great and it is right on for about any town in the US.

Here in Portland, Oregon. we have a regional light rail system that mainly runs West and East with North and South branches on the East side of the Willamette River and it intersects with a downtown trolley line on the West side of the river that runs North and South.
