Anything Better Than MRC Control System?
Troy asks readers:
“I’m changing my N scale layout to DCC and have heard good things about MRC control systems. I’m not sure exactly what I should be looking for in a system, and wondered if there is anything better? How easy is it to set up and operate? Will it give me enough different functions in the future? Haven’t thought much about what switches or signals I’ll need yet, so perhaps I should do that first?”

Troy,
For the most part you should be happy with many of the systems that are available to you. I for one use Digitrax and I also have friends that swear on NCE. But it is mostly what you are comfortable with. It als has to do with others near you and what they use because they are the ones you might go to when trying to figure it out. In my case there was a lot of digitrax being used where I could has questions. But for the most part the systems work the same but you might need to refer to the instruction books from time to time. One thing is for certain and that is it doesn’t matter what brand chips you have in your engines the system you choose will make the adjustments for you OK Just hang on the the system manuals and also the engine chip manuals to refer to adjustment changes from Newman
I use the NCE system for my N scale layout, it’s all in what you get use to. Good luck.
I use NCE i have found it meets all my requirements and one you are use it it its easy to use like anything new
I USE DIGITRAX WHICH IS NOT AS EASY AS NCE, NCE IS VERRY USER FRIENDLY
DIGITRAX TAKES A LITTLE MORE UNDERSTANDING BUT U CAN USE MORE THINGS AND TRAINS ON THE SYS.
