Being an Aussie I suppose I’d plug for the Austrains 830 SAR diesel.

  • Garthsays:

First, it must be Kato and UP or BNSF SD80/90

  • David Ksays:

I’m with Garth – Kato but BN green livery, maybe a SD70.

  • Andras Kaseksays:

Being Hungarian (Europe), I would choose a steam locomotive 424

  • Rick Scottsays:

It has to be the World Steam Loco Speed Record holder : A4 Mallard. My Hornby model is in its later BR green livery. Superb!

  • Hans Nieuweboersays:

For me it is and always will be a Southern Pacific SD45 Tunnel Moto or its brother in DRGW livery.

  • steven lewissays:

conrail sd80mac for its power & looks

  • Noel Rileysays:

I have 6″ bends on my 2′ x 3′ layout, so I cant run big ones. My favourite is the Minitrix 89 005 0-6-0 steam loco.

  • william howardsays:

A Pennsy GG1 in any decoration. Always looks and works great.

  • Jack E Lemlersays:

Norfolk & Western Y6b, so big and majestic, it’s whistle speaks for itself …

  • Donnis Davissays:

GM&O GP38s, or on big radius curves DL107/109s
