Valerio asks readers:
"Does any one knows the Marklin (Motorola) decoder number or identification that is included in the Marklin Digital high-efficiency propulsion kit for converting Marklin HO locomotives kit part number is 60760."

Pete asks readers:
“My question is that of drive cogs renewal or replacement. Where to obtain the little devils? My local shop have no answer as they just want you to buy a new engine but I like my old units. Can anyone give me some pointers I don’t want to make them? Brass or plastic is OK. Thanks”

Although this is not directly related to model railroading, my mind started to think about all the applications this technology could bring to the hobby. Imagine being able to replicate a rare locomotive or something like that. It would be interesting to hear what you think about this technology (let your imagination run wild) and see what applications you think it could be put to in the hobby. Add your suggestions below.
Richard is hoping someone else in the hobby can help him:
“Are there any suggestions toward a slick, easier way to insert and set replacement miniature springs in the knuckles when the old spring has dissapeared and flown away into the great unknown (invisible to old eyes)?? So far my elder fingers have not been able to do this with any success. Haven’t found any effective literature on this topic and I would like to be able to salvage and use couplers that have gone spring-less making that coupler useless….piles of them.”
If you can advise Richard, then please add your suggestion below.
Joe asks readers for their opinion:
“I have a mth SD70ACE and I am using a digitrax DSC50. The problem is I can not get the ho dcc couplings to work. All other functions work. mth use’s sound pro3.0. and I can’t find any cv.s on that sound system. I would really like to use them. I hope some one can help me.”

Edward is into G scale and asks readers for advice:
“I have two engines. One is a 0-4-0 that is a BACHMANN. The second is a Lionel 2-6-0. Both have stripped gears that are driven by the motors worm gear. I could repair them my self if I could get the needed gear. I have not been able to find a replacment gear after two months of searching the net. Can anyone please advise?”

Here is a tip from my online Model Train Club:
When traveling on grades, cars near the head end of heavy trains, are subjected to an incredible degree of pull. This can force one knuckle up and out of the other. When the opposite coupler goes down it can loosen until the actuating pin snags things between the rails. Remove any cars with drooping couplers until they are repaired.
Here is another tip from the online Model Train Club:
Broken couplers are a common problem and this is sometimes caused by hitting the bumpers too hard. One way of avoiding this is to add two small nails just before the bumpers. The nails can be placed exactly two and a half ties from the bumper so they catch the axle of the car and keep the coupler from hitting the bumper. This could save many couplers and lower the frustration level also. You could paint the nails a bright color (eg. yellow) to make them easier to see.
Edward asks readers for help:
“I have one Lionel and one Bachmann engines that have stripped gears from the motor to the axle. I sent in Bachmann engine in for repairs and they said it was obsolete and no parts were available. That was number one. Same thing with number two. I spent literally hours trying to get these repaired or at least find parts. I have enough of the failed gear to make one if I need to. This I can do, but I would rather not. My question is where can I find gear parts for both Lionel and Bachmann G Scale?”

Jeff has a rather strange question for readers:
“I am looking for HO-Scale chemistry lab equipment. My layout will feature an industrial complex where I would like to have one of the buildings be a lab. I have found suitable worktables and scientist figures. The only thing I need is the actual lab equipment.”
William there is excellent information on coupler selection (with diagrams) – see page 51 of the Model Train Help ebook.

Chris, on the page where you submitted your question there is a link to email a photograph of the armatures for publication. This would be better than asking readers to supply you with their email addresses so you can email a photo to them. Many readers like to retain their privacy.

John is hoping someone will help him with this problem:
"I am reviving my AF layout. What track clip do I need to make the automatic grossing gate accessory STAY DOWN while the train goes through it? The one for the flashing lights doesn't work. Do any of you use anything else like infra-red or some other way to trigger the gate to stay down until the train goes completely through for realism sake? I appreciate any help you can give!"

"I hope to purchase an American Bachmann Loco 81811 Passenger Loco DCC Sound on board, which has American Type couplings fitted. Can anyone advise me how I can convert to UK Hornby/Bachmann type or fit the UK Ones. Any help would be appreciated. I am purchasing from a British Dealer."
